Date: Wednesday, January 27,2010
Assembly: Fuselage
Sub-Assembly: General
Work Time: 3 hours
Description: Test-fit gear legs in sockets to check if honing was needed.
*Left-side fit in perfectly, so this was marked "L" and we moved to the Right*
Used honing tool as necessary, cleaned and regreased between fittings.
Used a steel bar to align gear legs with proper taildragger shims.

Got the lovely piece of steel from big bro Adam (thanks!). The manual recommends using items such as paint cans to support the gear leg ends... we put the Flaming Stools (tm) to work instead!

Shimmed, supported, and clamped. The most time we spend was on the right leg. We had to do a lot of honing (used a brake line tool) and praying. Oh, and the manual note about "sometimes the legs fall out"... not a chance with ours!
